KARRI AND KEITH

This home was stately meets arty meets mid-century kitsch. So. Fun.

Karri and Keith are level ten treasure hunters and the space is bursting at the seams with personality because of their cool finds.The décor borders on quirky and Karri will be the first to admit that she does not subscribe to any rhyme or reason in approaching the design of her home. She’s a rebel like that. The result is an adventurous journey filled with vibrant color, bold pattern and a wacky element that divorces the gorgeous 1616 four square with prairie accents from its likely stuffy past. Take a look at some of the cool stuff I nerded out over.

This display is an old printing drawer and a nod to Karri’s grandmother who kept shadowboxes

 

Karri has a stockpile of knick knacks that she rotates out to her heart’s content
Bronislow Bak was an art professor who taught at the Dominican college here in Racine. He has wood blocks at the Chicago Art Institute and is known for his Stained glass work in buildings. It’s possible this triptych is a study of a stained glass piece. It’s painted wood and is 8 feet across.

TEN BUCKS at an estate sale. That’s right…this dresser is a rescue! She didn’t save it. It saved her.
